Understanding Depression
Depression is more than just feeling sad or having a bad day. It’s a serious mental health condition that can profoundly affect your mood, thoughts, and ability to carry out daily tasks. Many people with depression experience a deep, persistent sadness, loss of interest in activities they once enjoyed, and overwhelming feelings of guilt or worthlessness.
Common symptoms of depression include:
Fatigue or low energy
Difficulty concentrating
Sleep disturbances (too little or too much)
Changes in appetite or weight
Restlessness or slowed movements
Persistent feelings of sadness or disconnection
Loss of interest in relationships and hobbies
Thoughts of death or suicide
If you’re experiencing these symptoms, you’re not alone. Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) affects millions of people, but effective treatments are available. Therapy can help you understand and manage your depression, so you can begin to regain control over your life.
